Greetings from just between the 1st and 10th tee box here at The Golf Club ... we're in the Nest today looking ahead to the weekend and our first wedding of the Summer; in all, we've got nearly 20 weddings on the books for this year and a handful already booked up for 2020. Big hat tip to Abby and the staff as they get set to usher in the wedding season here at Eagle Pointe.
Which brings me to an update on the Waterfall at #10 ... our new pump is in and we have the ol' girl up and running smoothly for the Wedding on Saturday - just in time for some great pics if Mother Nature will cooperate with us.
Speaking of Mother Nature - rain is still public enemy number 1 around here ... every time we make some headway with the grass, we get a healthy amount of rain which pushes back work out on the course (bunkers etc) as well as any mowing of the rough, fairways, greens and tee boxes. We are fighting an uphill battle currently as you all know, what with the amounts and volume that we've gotten thus far. We truly appreciate the patience and understanding you all have shown.
Want to thank everyone that participated in our 1st ever "Memorial" golf tourney on Sunday and to those that stuck around and watched that thrilling end to the Indy 500 on the Big Screen in the Pub - we had 30 ppl participate and raised a couple hundred bucks to be donated to local Veterans Groups. Our next planned golf event is gonna really be a fun one: as we welcome Night Golf to The Pointe - stay tuned for more details on that in the days ahead.
I don't know about you guys, but we had an absolute BLAST this past weekend; we want to thank (again) Bottoms Up and Jake Dodds for getting the 2019 Lake Life Concert Series off to such an amazing start !! THIS WEEK (Friday the 31st) we are welcoming The Summertime Band back to Eagle Pointe!! VIP Tables ($50) are available for reservation - call us at (812)824.4040 between 10am and 5pm to get your space saved for the show. As a reminder, this is an ALL AGES FREE SHOW - we will be carding again, as Hinds Security will be present - and doors open up at 7pm with showtime at 8:30.
Lastly a quick update on the pool and the memberships : We still have some wait time with the grand opening of the new facility outside; the work to the retaining wall was complete last Friday and we still need a few things tweaked with the pool itself as well as adding the proper chemicals and sending samples off to the State for testing. Once that is complete we will be letting folks know it's available for use. We must also finish up the fencing and getting our locks and key fabs/security installed and situated by J&S Locksmith. We anticipate it taking an additional week or so for them to be ordered and programmed. If all goes well, we're hoping middle of June for both to be open to our Social and Fitness Members.
I'll be away the rest of Wednesday and Thursday as Kit and I travel to Peru to play in a ProAm Tournament. Abby and Matt will be around, as well as Rachel, Shane and Jeff ... have a great week and we hope to see everyone on Friday!
